I actually find myself rather impressed by this design choice, I must admit. Not impressed as in impressed technically speaking (although it's that too xD) but impressed that this actually suits Harley rather well and separates him from the other hounds by quite a lot, which is something that his design particularly benefits from.
In my point of view, I think you should pursue this design further and see how it turns out :3
